WHAT IS VELONOTTE
Night in Rome. 20th century monuments. By bike. It’s free.
We explore 20th century architecture and history in the first and only Roman VELONOTTE™. World-known specialists tell you about incredible monuments. In English, Russian & Italian.
Created and produced by Sergey NIKITIN, PhD, professor of history of arts and founder of MosKultProg, Russia’s leading urban history seminar.
And more: picnic on a picturesque lake side watching the sunrise – please bring with you tea, cheese, sweets or something else (homemade de preference).
Key areas: Aventino, Testaccio, Garbatella & EUR.
Distance: circa 23 km
Start: ROME, 8 MAY 2010.
Free-of-charge. Number of partecipants is limited, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
We will ask you to answer 6 short questions. We’ll send you the registration number and further information and place of meeting in the end of April.
Please bring with you FM-radio with headphones. We will speak to you on the radio.
Participation is free.
Apart of bike and FM, we kindly ask you to bring with you these OBLIGATORY things:
- a spare tyre,
- a bicycle pump and
- headgear.
Please remember that we won't be able to provide medical service. Drive carefully.
IMPORTANT! We do not provide accommodation or organize bike rentals in Rome.

Is Velonotte really free?
- Yes, participation in VELONOTTE ROMA is free-of-charge, as well as in VELONOTTE MOSCOW.
Does Velonotte provide a bike?
- You can rent a bike in Rome. Plenty of dealers offer them downtown and prices normally range between 10 and 25 Euros per day.
Will I have to ride fast?
- Approximate calculated speed is around 7 km/h.
Are you going to make other Velonottes in 2010?
- Yes, we plan to organize the IV Velonotte in Moscow in June. Check moskultprog.ru for details.
